Reconnect with dormant ties

Quarantine has been a wakeup call for me. I realized that in starting a business, being a mom, and taking care of myself, I had neglected my friendships. I called one of my best friends, and we realized we had spoken in a year.

The beauty of quarantine is that you have an excuse to rekindle dormant relationships. And, according to org psychologist Adam Grant, those dormant ones actually can bring more joy and value than your strong ones. You are more likely to get a new job from weaker ties, and they offer more significant updates on their lives.

So today, call or text someone you haven’t in years. Let’s come out of all of this closer.
